Ryobi Cordless Grease Gun P3410 Powers up to 10,000 PSI!

Posted on May 5, 2023 by

Ryobi Cordless Grease Gun Offers Professional Performance at an Affordable Price

Ryobi is the latest company to enter the battery-operated grease gun game, and the Ryobi P3410 looks pretty good at first glance. It has the same 10,000 PSI of power as its Milwaukee and DeWalt competitors. As far as flow, the Ryobi Cordless Grease Gun falls right in between the two. Its rate of 7.5 oz/min beat DeWalt's 5.0 oz/min and fell short of Milwaukee's 10.0 oz/min by the same margin.

Loading

Like its competitors, the Ryobi revolves around a rock-solid grease tank with a spring-loaded design. Loading is very similar to any other grease gun.

  • Unscrew the jar from the main body
  • lock the lever back
  • Remove the plastic end (rear end) of the grease cartridge
  • Put the tube in the jar, opening first
  • Remove the easy-open cap seal from the front of the cartridge
  • re-screw the jar
  • release lever
  • release air
  • Come on as you like

Expelling air is important. To do this, simply open the bleed valve and push the lever until you see a little bit of grease coming through. Close the valve, wipe off the grease, and you're ready to go!

While you're using it, markings on the rod give you a rough estimate of how much grease is left in the barrel.

locking

There is a lock switch on the front of the trigger that you can use to prevent grease from spraying out until you are ready. The grease comes out quickly so it prevents a big mess.

led light

If you happen to be caught in dark or low-light conditions, the LED light on the front is more than enough to get you to work.

30″ hose

The hose extends 30 inches to give you a reasonable work area. Both Milwaukee and DeWalt give you longer hoses. A longer hose definitely helps, but the Ryobi's hose isn't too short by any stretch of the imagination.

Clips on the sides of the jar allow you to control the hose when not in use. I like that you can hang it on the sides. For the DIYer who's just maintaining a trailer or light equipment, you can run against your hands and avoid some extra grease stains on your pants.

know your oils

The Ryobi Cordless Grease Gun handles grease up to NLGI #2 – roughly the consistency of peanut butter. If you're not sure, grease cartridges will state their NLGI rating on the front.

price

The Ryobi Cordless Grease Gun is available at Home Depot for $119 bare-bones, with no kit option. That's about $60 less than options on Milwaukee and DeWalt options.
