We spotted what looks to be the new Ryobi One+ 6-port battery charger at Pro Construction Guide today. The new Ryobi 18V 6-port Supercharger battery charger's claim to claim is its ability to charge each Ryobi One+ battery in as little as 30 minutes. It still won't charge multiple batteries at once, but it will work in a "cycle" fashion like the existing Ryobi One+ Supercharger and ensure all your jobsite batteries are charged at the end of the day.
The new 6-port battery charger uses what Ryobi calls the IntelliPort feature, allowing it to fully charge in less time. Easy-to-read LED indicators tell you when the battery is charging and when it's done. There's also a temperature light to let you know if the battery is still too hot or cold to charge. You should also be able to leave the battery on the charger when needed without the risk of overcharging or draining. In fact, there is an energy saving mode that saves energy when not charging or maintaining the battery.
Plus, Ryobi added a 2-amp USB charging port so you can keep your phone charged while the Ryobi One+ battery charges. A 2A USB port is enough to quickly charge most smartphones and even Android tablets and iPads, which you can use while the Ryobi P135 Supercharger is charging the battery.
I like how the charger makes better use of space. Instead of forcing all batteries to lay flat (and positioning the ports to collect dust and debris), Ryobi uses a pyramid configuration to orient the battery stems inward – maximizing space. The new 6-port charger can be laid flat, stood up, or mounted on a wall—the battery locks into place, so you can pick up the entire system like a briefcase and transport it to your job site. The Ryobi 18V 6-Port Supercharger Battery Charger retails for $79 and looks like a nice upgrade from the previous model.
