Millermatic 355: Miller’s Next-Generation MIG Welder
Miller has developed the Millermatic 355 MIG welder with enhanced power features compared to the highly respected Millermatic 255. Is the higher price worth the extra materials, voltage, and current capabilities?
Millermatic 355 MIG Welder: A Great Deal
Miller designed the Millermatic 355 MIG Welder for manufacturers and fabricators looking to specialize in MIG and pulse MIG welding of a wide range of materials. Just like other Millermatic machines, this model does not support stick or TIG welding (see Multimatic models). Instead, it focuses on MIG and pulse MIG welding for mild steel and stainless steel as thin as 22 gauge. It can also handle aluminum as thin as 18 gauge and up to 1/2 inch thick in both aluminum and steel.
The advantages of using pulse MIG welding compared to standard MIG welding include improved results on metals such as stainless steel due to reduced heat input. It also reduces distortion and burn-through on thinner metals and minimizes spatter on all materials.
Miller allows you to operate the Millermatic 355 MIG Welder on single-phase or three-phase alternating current. This provides you with flexibility when using it in different locations. Additionally, it has a current output range of 25A to 400A. A 60% duty cycle is specified at 29.5V and 310A.
Additional Features
- 7-inch LCD screen interface for display settings
- Save and recall up to four commonly used welding processes
- Use trigger control to select saved programs during welding
- Industrial four-wheel drive wire feed system
- Included wire feeder
- Compatible with push-pull guns
