Just because it's snowing doesn't mean you need to turn on a full-size snow blower, especially for early and late season light snow. For those times you just need to clear the sidewalk or do a quick driveway check, the Masterforce 20V Cordless Snow Shovel might be just what the doctor ordered.
Editor's note: We're still waiting for the first snowpack since 1977. But just because we live in Florida doesn't mean we know nothing about snow. Our crew has extensive experience in Pennsylvania and Connecticut, so please enjoy the walkthrough and don't get too annoyed as we take photos in bright 80°F weather.

Masterforce's brushed motor spins the snow shovel's 4.6-inch auger up to 2800 RPM. It has a 12-inch wide inlet and can handle snow up to 4 inches deep, throwing it up to 20 feet depending on conditions. The rear scraper helps move snow near the bottom, but it won't clear ice.
This model uses a brushed motor, and while it's not as efficient or robust as a brushless motor, it keeps the price down (more on that later).
Masterforce 20V Cordless Snow Shovel Design Notes

The Masterforce is designed with a rear handle instead of a cord trimmer head like most attachment system snow shovels. This makes it a little easier when you need to put some force behind it to move the snow.
Just in front of it is an auxiliary handle, which can pivot 360° and turn forward or backward. Combined with a telescoping shaft with an adjustable overall length of 46 to 54 inches, almost everyone can find a comfortable work fit.

The shaft is a split design with an electrical connection at the connection point instead of using wires from the battery to the motor. It also allows you to separate the two parts completely instead of having them connected at a joint, and it also allows for smaller storage space if you want to disassemble it between uses.
If you don't want to disassemble it, the base allows the shovel to stand on its own on hard surfaces.

Without batteries, the tool weighs 7.4 lbs. Adding the 4.0Ah battery brings the total operating weight to 9.0 lbs.

Masterforce 20V Cordless Snow Shovel Prices
You can get this electric snow shovel in a kit for $179.99 at Menards. It includes snow shovel, 4.0Ah battery, charger and storage bag. There are no kit options available. This tool is a little different, though — it's only available in-store and not available online as we write this.
When you look at premium options, like the EGO Multi-Head System with Snow Shovel Attachment ($399.99 for kit, $189.99 for accessories), the Masterforce's price tag is very attractive to value-conscious shoppers.
the bottom line
Masterforce's cordless snow shovel is a great option to supplement a full-size snow blower for light snow or to clear smaller areas like sidewalks after a heavy snowfall. While it doesn't have the performance of premium brushless models, it also doesn't cost as much. If you're looking for a great value cordless snow shovel, grab this one.
