Breaking New Ground: Lenox Fast Snap Utility Knife
Many of us who are frequent users of utility knives know the convenience of snap-on blades. However, the challenge lies in disassembling them and figuring out where each piece goes. This is where the Lenox Fast Snap utility knife truly shines with its innovative design.
Advantages Worth Noting
- Effortlessly snap off the blade with just one hand
- Broken blade fragments are easily caught by magnets
- Exceptional hand comfort during use
- Provides a strong and sturdy construction
- Offers great value for your money
A Design That Stands Out
At first glance, the design of this utility knife may resemble many slide-and-break models. By utilizing the plastic slider, you can extend or retract the blade, or pull it all the way back to replace it.
While the blade doesn’t have a lock to hold its position, there is a positive stop feature that prevents slippage while cutting.
The handle shape has clearly been thoughtfully designed, fitting perfectly in our hands. The blue overmolding on the bottom and top rear of the handle significantly enhances comfort and grip security.
If this was all there was to this knife, Lenox would already have a winner on their hands. But it gets even better.
A Game-Changing Snap
Rather than snapping off the used section of the blade on the handle, the front portion pivots out for easy removal. First, push the front of the blade towards the arrow indicator. Then, press the red release on the top forward and kick it to the left to effortlessly snap off the blade with just one hand.
It’s a straightforward process, but it’s important to note that it requires the use of your right hand (apologies to all the lefties out there) to make the snaps.
Enhanced Convenience with a Magnetic Catch
Adding another layer of convenience, the Lenox Fast Snap utility knife is equipped with a magnet that securely attaches to the broken blade fragment. This allows for easy control over when and where you dispose of it, reducing the number of sharp blade fragments that clutter your workspace.
Versatility in Blade Options
Lenox supplies the Fast Snap utility knife with a carbide blade that we absolutely love using. However, if you have a preference for another brand like OLFA, the 18mm blade size works perfectly fine.
Pricing Information
When the Lenox Fast Snap utility knife arrives at Lowe’s in December 2021, it is expected to retail for $14.97. This makes it an excellent value for the money spent.
The Bottom Line: A Game-Changer
Lenox has truly hit it out of the park with their Fast Snap utility knife. From the ergonomic handle design to the game-changing snap-on mechanism and the added convenience of the magnetic catch, this is by far the best snap-on utility knife we’ve ever had the pleasure of using. Unless your job site necessitates a specific safety requirement for a utility knife, we highly recommend giving the Lenox Fast Snap a try.
