This kind of product is unusual: a tool that can be done by hand that we thought could only really be done with electricity. Looking for some serious crafting by hand for a special project? The new Jointmaker Pro v2 Manual Table Saw from Bridge City Tool Works is your solution. We immediately thought of missionary work in 3rd world countries, but the tool is actually a bit too refined, better suited for detailing and finishing than rough chopping and simply cutting boards where there is no electricity (since the hand saw is still your friend ).

The power of the Jointmaker Pro v2 manual table saw is to get professional quality cuts without hearing protection, dust removal or electricity. The resulting cuts (which even surprised us – check out the video below) required no further cleaning. The cuts are very clean, requiring little sanding of the edges or gouging and chiseling work.
The Jointmaker Pro v2 Manual Table Saw is a manual table saw and miter saw combined in one. Make no mistake, this is not about cutting 4x4s or pressure treated lumber. This is a finishing device that cuts in extremely thin cuts thanks to the use of custom-made Japanese saw blades in cross-cut and longitudinal cut grinding. The blades are quickly attached to the spine, which is part of the blade adjustment bracket. The slightly angled blades are moved up and down by a hand crank on the front of the machine and are equipped with individual pitch adjusters. This combination allows for perfect cross-cuts up to 6" wide and material thicknesses up to 1-3/4". Small sections such as small moldings and dowels can be cut in one go; the size of larger cross-sections and the hardness of the wood will determine penetration Number of passes cut. In either case, the cut was very smooth and true. The cut was only 0.021" – amazingly efficient. The tool comes with a cross-cut blade, which costs about $35 per replacement (in smaller quantities).
The way the tool works is that it quickly attaches to the sacrificial board and provides an easy back and forth motion to make the cut. Between each stroke you can adjust the blade height for the next cut (if necessary). The video makes it look easy, though we're a little worried that someone might let the blade go through their fingers because of careless hand placement. In either case, the resulting cut is so smooth it's unbelievable. Add to that the fact that the blade is virtually silent, and you have a true craftsman's tool in your hands, and one that can make small jobs easier and more manageable than we've ever seen before.
The JMP v2 seems equally adept at cutting stock up to 6 inches (152.5 mm) wide and 1-3/4 inches (44.5 mm) thick. The hardness of the wood doesn't matter as you can adjust the spacing of the cutting blades accordingly, allowing the saw to cut as efficiently as possible with each stroke.
Jointmaker Pro v2 Manual Table Saw Update
The Jointmaker Pro v2 Manual Table Saw is identical to the original JMP in every respect, with the exception of the linear table design – the JMP v2 has a recirculating linear bearing system (the bearings follow a closed loop). They require no adjustment (factory assembled) and no lubrication. The main advantage is that they are easier to use (less friction), but they are a bit noisier. Acetyl bearings are also much quieter than steel bearings. These tables feel effortless and are easy to use with one hand.
The Jointmaker Pro v2 manual watch sees potential uses and applications in:
- box making machine

- architectural model maker
- toy maker
- photo frame
- furniture maker
- artists and lovers
- model railroad set designer
- model maker
- Environmentally Concerned Woodworkers
- professional carpentry

- doll house maker
We love the Jointmaker Pro v2 Manual Table Saw because it's a clever take on an old idea. Its simplicity (and we're by no means saying the product hasn't had a ton of careful engineering) makes it perfect for jobs that traditional solutions struggle to do. When you compare this product to a power table saw in detail, it's like comparing a scalpel to an axe. This is truly a craftsman's tool.
The Jointmaker Pro v2 Manual Table Saw can be purchased unassembled for $1,295 or as an assembled tool for around $1,435.
