Hilti ONTrack Asset Management System 3.0 provides consulting, implementation and customer service for the entire Hilti tool range. According to Hilti research, companies lose more than $1 billion annually in tools, consumables and merchandise. Much of it ends up in the hands of people without legal access to them. When we looked into jobsite safety, several companies told us they had ideas in development. This includes systems such as Milwaukee One-Key and DeWalt Tool Connect. In fact, Hilti has been working on its solution since 2011.

Hilti ONTrack Overview
Key features of the Hilti ONTrack 3.0 system include tracking which tools have expired, to whom they have been checked out, and on which site they are located. The idea behind On Track isn't new – we've been using whiteboards and spreadsheets to track this information for a long time.
Hilti makes it easier by using an RFID/barcode scanning system with a unique ID number. Any team member can download the app and scan a barcode to inspect tools from the warehouse or job site. Taking this to another level of efficiency, Hilti's scanners simply swipe across the box to read the RFID tag to see exactly what's inside.
Its impact is far-reaching. A warehouse manager can now scan a full box of tools in seconds while a project manager verifies on-screen that he has everything he needs. Using the app or a second scanner, the project manager can scan the box. Do this at the beginning and end of each day to ensure your employees have returned all tools.
When it comes to returning tools to the warehouse (or double-checking them before leaving the job site), the manager again only needs a quick glance to see that all the tools have been returned. Hilti ONTrack not only told the manager how many tools were returned, but also exactly which tools were returned. Instead of seeing the 20 tools being brought back now, he knows that 19 of them were signed to you, but someone swapped the SF 10W-A18 bit for the SID A-18 impact driver. Management can ensure that returned tools are exactly the same as the serial number.
In addition to simple checkout/checkin, Hilti ONTrack software can also display the physical location where checkout occurs. While GPS is not yet enabled, you can select a job location so you can track the distribution of your tool assets. You can also track service notes such as standard maintenance, certifications, calibrations and inspections. The system can tell you when to stop using the tool for scheduled maintenance or scrapping. No more guessing about time or place.
Hilti ONTrack uses a unique RFID/barcode system. You can place stickers on tool, accessory and consumable packaging. This means they can use anyone's tools, not just Hilti's. Whether it's a power tool, a ladder, or a drill, you can keep track of it. I know what you're thinking, "A sticker will last as long as a cowboy riding El Diablo in a bullfight at my work site." That's what we call a Hilti. They designed these nine-ply tags to withstand the worst you can throw at them. We found out that the Hilti rep threw the tagged tools into the mixer along with broken concrete blocks, just to show how strong they were.
Application Control via the Cloud
The cloud-based system allows you to access it through an app on any web-enabled device. Subscriptions have an unlimited number of users instead of the per-user fees that typically come with asset management software.
Hilti ONTrack Unite
Hilti ONTrack Unite provides a new open application programming interface (API) for software integration. The Hilti On Track Unite platform transforms a set of often complex manual data management tasks into a seamless digital experience. It imports and unifies data from multiple sources, improving data quality and consistency. Hilti On Track Unite also automates processes involving ONTrack tool tracking and asset management and other software.

The platform designed by Hilti supports two main integration scenarios. Customers can use off-the-shelf integrations in the market, or create their own by leveraging the ONTrack Unite open API. The company even provides documentation to developers so they can easily build scalable integrations.
Software developers can provide all their customers with integrated solutions that link ONTrack with the applications they develop. They can then offer these applications on the integrated marketplace. Supported integrations already include Fieldwire, Trackunit, Procore and Viewpoint, the leading construction enterprise resource planning (ERP). Additional integrations should be coming soon.
remote support
Hilti also offers on-site or remote support to get you up to speed and help you maximize your newfound efficiency. If you encounter any doubts or problems, you can call a dedicated hotline for immediate assistance. For more information, please check the Hilti website.
