HART 20V Cordless High Capacity Vacuum Cleaner Review

Posted on April 18, 2023 by

HART Cordless High Capacity Stick Vacuum Extended Empty Time

We love our vacuums, but they have their limitations. That's why most of us have more than one vacuum cleaner in our home. The HART 20V Cordless High Capacity Stick Vacuum addresses one of the main pain points – capacity. That's fine, however, you have a trade-off.

capacity

Can

Capacity is the most important thing, let's start there. HART's regular vacuum holds only 1.5 cups (12 oz). Although the tank is much larger, the filtration system takes up most of the space.

On the other hand, the HART 20V Cordless Large Capacity Stick Vacuum has a 1.5 quart (48 oz) capacity. That's 4 times the capacity of a standard vacuum cleaner. The main advantage, of course, is that you can go farther before you have to empty the can, which in many cases saves you from stopping to vacuum the entire house.

model

mode selection

HART turned to its popular 20V system to power this vacuum and uses a brushed motor. As with all HART 20V products, you can use any HART 20V battery to run the vacuum.

HART takes design a step beyond simple high and low controls. There is a hard floor mode that uses lower suction and brushes. The carpet mode powers up and then there is a brush off mode that keeps the suction high without using the brush.

First press the power button to turn the vacuum on, then press the mode button to cycle through the three options. No matter which mode you were in when you turned the vacuum off, it will default back to hard floor mode the next time you turn it on.

In fact, the vacuum cleaner works quite well and can clean hard floors and carpets with relative ease. As you'd expect from an upright vacuum, the flexible suction head tackles corners and under furniture better than a standard upright vacuum. While HART's Pro upright vacuum remains the best choice for the most suction and deepest carpet cleaning, this high-capacity upright vacuum is more convenient and more productive.

trade-off

HART 20V Cordless High Capacity Vacuum Cleaner Review

You'll need to weigh the HART 20V Cordless High Capacity Stick Vacuum with its standard sibling, since this is only a floor vacuum. The standard model can be detached from the brush base and use the attachment to hit nooks, crevices and other places. You can also remove the shaft and convert it into a handheld vacuum, great for cleaning furniture and vehicles.

While this model does rotate around objects, we noticed that it wasn't as flexible as HART's standard vacuum cleaner.

One of the nuances is that there are no LED lights on the front of this vacuum cleaner. That light does a good job of showing debris on hard floors, so not having it is a noticeable change.

Another consideration is that you don't have the wall mounts that come with higher-capacity models. Not everyone uses it, but it's very handy if you do. High-capacity vacuums, on the other hand, stand up on their own, so you may not need a wall mount at all.

On the plus side, HART makes it easier to remove the brush for cleaning without tools. As someone with long hair, I appreciate it!

HART 20V Cordless Large Capacity Stick Vacuum Cleaner Price

As a bare unit, this vacuum is available as a kit with a 4.0Ah battery and charger for $159.00. It's also available as a bare tool for $109. Either way, HART gives you a 3 year warranty.

the bottom line

HART bridges the gap between the convenience of a stick vacuum and the capacity of an upright vacuum with its 20V Cordless High Capacity Stick Vacuum. While there are some compromises in terms of accessory compatibility and features, the extra capacity lets you run longer before emptying the cans and makes this model easier to use for whole-home vacuuming.
