Hart 20V Blower Takes a Straightforward Approach to Residential Lawn Cleaning
The Hart 20V Turbo Blower (HGBL021VNM) won't try to distract you with fancy bells and whistles, super unique designs, or massive power. What we've found is that it offers homeowners with small to mid-sized yards a reliable and inexpensive option for putting the finishing touches on weekend yard work.
- Provides ample power for small residential applications
- cheap kit
- A home blower running on a 20V platform has a decent run time
- Will fight wet leaves; no metal scraper on tube end
Hart HGBL021VNM Offers Small Size Blowing Power
We live in a world where many OPE manufacturers try to surprise you with professional grade capabilities and runtimes. This results in heavier builds, huge batteries and eye-watering price tags. Hart seems to have come up with a model to appeal to those of us who just want to groom our tiny lawns effortlessly.
Designed with a brushed motor and inline axial fan, the Hart 20V Turbo Blower delivers 315 CFM airflow and 100 mph airspeed to move dry leaves and yard trimmings with ease. Admittedly, these numbers won't set a new benchmark for what we can achieve on battery power, but these tools can get a lot done — and for those who are looking for a great tool to clear driveways, there's a low cost of entry much or terrace.
Of course, it helps when your yard waste is dry, as that power can falter when you get into wet yard waste. It doesn't have any sort of metal scraper on the end of the tube to help with that, but it's not a feature we've seen on too many residential models, and we didn't expect it to be here.
We were concerned that the smaller 4.0Ah battery pack wouldn't have much runtime, but the Hart 20V Blower ran for 12 minutes and 27 seconds straight before stopping. For small to medium sized lawns, this should do just fine. Plus, borrow an extra battery from your other Hart power tools and you'll double your run time.
You can further extend the run time by not running at full speed when you don't need to. The Hart 20V blower has a variable speed trigger that lets you apply the power you need for the task. We'd like to see future models feature a "cruise control" knob for more throttle control.
Hart 20V Blower Ergonomic
Another benefit of a 20V battery pack is that the weight of the blower is still manageable compared to the more traditional 40V+ packs that many manufacturers have opted for. In this case, Hart's 20V blower only weighs 6 pounds. 11 oz. Connect to battery.
In our experience, the blower feels very comfortable to use with the weight and balance of the tool. We did notice that there is a seam in the center of the handle, which may cause some discomfort with prolonged use. However, this problem can be solved by putting on a pair of gloves.
Hart's Turbofan Blower Specifications

The Ryobi HP Leaf Blower probably offers a bit more performance-wise, while the Worx offers much less (and costs more). Overall, the Hart is a great value, including the 4.0Ah battery and charger. If you're looking to use a cordless battery platform, the number of tools Hart offers and the value they represent make them an ideal brand for homeowners with smaller yards.
Price is where the "meat and potatoes" approach really pays off. You can pick up the Hart HGBL021VNM 20V Turbofan Blower Kit for $128 at Walmart or online. The kit comes with blower, 4.0Ah battery and charger. It even includes a 3-year warranty covering the blower and battery.
