Hart 20V Cordless 13" Wire Trimmer/Edger

Posted on May 4, 2023 by

The Hart 2-in-1 20V String Trimmer/Edger Designed to Simplify Homeowners

Hart offers a simplified solution for homeowners looking to tighten up the look of their lawn without breaking the bank. The Hart 20V Harness Trimmer/Edger does double duty by trimming those hard-to-reach weeds and grass around your property, then switches to edge mode to put those nice, tight lines around your driveway, hardscape, and landscaping. This tool seems to be especially aimed at those with small yards who don't need multiple tools or extended run times to get the job done.

What's the big deal?

The Hart 20V String Trimmer/Edger features a unique swivel trimmer head. This feature sets it apart from tools that may opt for a long or even rely on twisting the entire tool from the side to the edge. This tool has the very orthodox shape you're used to when it comes to string trimming around properties. However, you can step on the adjustment lever when it's time to trim driveway and patio edges. This rotates the cutting head so the trim line runs vertically.

Essentially, this is the same feat accomplished by turning your string trimmer on its side. The difference, however, is the built-in guide wheels. It allows you to glide smoothly over concrete when you're on the edge. Its operation is closer to that of a real edger—just with a cord instead of a metal blade.

Hart HGST041VNM salient features

Designed for homeowners working on small to medium-sized plots, the Hart Tools Cord Trimmer/Edger gives you an adjustable cutting strap between 11" and 13". It also features an automatic feed head that releases 1/4 inch of wire each time the trigger is released, which is especially useful when you're configuring the tool for edging.

We've found that even with the 1/4" self-release cord, we don't run out of cord anytime soon. Over time, you develop a rhythm and don't "waste" the strings.

Variable speed triggers give you full control over your work. We were able to easily transition from cutting thick grass to lighter overgrowth with enough precision to extend battery run time.

Overall, this cord trimmer and edge trimmer combo from Hart Tools works great. We think this is a great solution for anyone with a very limited amount of property that needs trimming and finishing. You can keep your lawn looking tidy without having to use a lot of tools or find a place to store everything in the shed. Of course, on smaller lawns the advantage over gas products seems to be even more pronounced!

Price

Like all tools in the Hart catalog, you'll find the 20V Cord Trimmer/Edger exclusively at Walmart. It comes with a 4.0Ah battery and charger and retails for just $115. Hart backs this tool with a 3-year warranty.
