What is Covered by the Flex Founders Warranty?
The Flex Founders Limited Lifetime Warranty covers the purchase of Flex 24V tools, batteries, and chargers made before December 31, 2023. Initially, the Flex Founders warranty applied to tools purchased before December 31, 2021. However, Flex Tool extended the deadline by one year in January, now covering 2022 and 2023 purchases. This is fantastic news for those who are still contemplating whether to acquire a new Flex power tool for their business or trade.
Here’s how the coverage is broken down. When purchasing and registering a Flex 24V tool by the specified deadline, you will receive a limited lifetime warranty. Similarly, once the tool is registered, the Flex 24V battery and charger also receive the same limited lifetime warranty. However, Flex only covers up to three battery replacements. It’s important to note that Flextronics does not provide warranties for tool attachments or accessories.
How Can You Obtain the Flex Founders Lifetime Warranty?
To benefit from the Flex Founders Lifetime Warranty, you must purchase and register your tools by December 31, 2023. Registration can be done online at www.registermyflex.com. It’s important to remember that you must register your tool before the deadline and within 30 days of purchase in order to receive the lifetime warranty. Otherwise, the warranty defaults to a 3-year limited warranty.
Wait, didn’t the Flex already come with a standard 5-year warranty? Yes, however, similar to the Flex Founders Warranty, it also requires registration within 30 days of purchase. The 3-year warranty assumes that you did not register your tool, battery, or charger within the specified period. So, if you happen to acquire a new Flex 24V Barrel Clamp Jigsaw or any other Flex brushless tool, be sure to register within 30 days to maximize your coverage.
Are There Any Exceptions?
There are only a few “exceptions,” if you can call them that. The Flex Founders Lifetime Warranty does not apply to accessories, attachments, or parts. Additionally, Flex does not cover “direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.” Furthermore, the lifetime warranty is only applicable to products sold within the United States, Canada, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
