EGO 765 CFM Blower Sets New Blowing Power Benchmark
While it's not as influential as the space race of the 20th century, manufacturers are pushing the performance limits of cordless blowers, and the EGO tends to lead the way. The latest contender is the EGO 765 CFM blower, which packs impressive stats, but is it good enough to topple the battery and gas-powered competition once and for all?
advantage
- The most powerful battery-operated blower we've ever tested
- comfortable working angle
- cruise control dial
- Includes concentrator and wide fan nozzle
- weather resistant structure
shortcoming
- Much more expensive than other cordless blowers
- right handed
EGO 765 CFM Blower Performance
Blowing power
Even before testing, the EGO's 765 CFM and 200 MPH specs were impressive. If you've been using PTR for a while, you know that Newton's force is the most telling.
In this regard, the EGO 765 CFM Blower surpasses the 26N mark and wins! Using the included 5.0Ah battery, we put this blower to the test on a dynamometer and experimented with it using the included nozzle. It achieves the highest blow force without installation.
On high, it produced 15.9N, a figure that shot up to 25.3N when we hit the turbo button. Even with the kit, it's the most powerful battery-powered blower we've tested to date.

But what about EGO's claim that it hits 26N? Since you can get more power out of a higher capacity battery, we retested it with a 10.0Ah battery to hit the 26N mark. The monster pack finally got us to a peak output of 26.1N. Temperature, humidity, pressure and other environmental factors play a role, and we typically see higher numbers in the warmer months.
While we achieved our goal, the 10.0Ah battery adds significant weight and we do not recommend using it with a blower.
bigger picture
The blowing power of the EGO is impressive, but let's not lose focus on the overall picture. Gas hand blowers, even professional grade models, can hit around 12N. Obviously, this model is much taller than that. In fact, it's the most powerful handheld blower of any power supply we know of.
What really stands out when you look at backpack blowers. Professional gas models start around 20N, with a couple of really good models peaking in the mid 20s. Of course, high-end professional models such as Echo's X series can reach more than 40N. Still, when you consider the weight of these blowers and the fact that the EGO gets similar power from a handheld, you have to tip your hat to the product development team.
run
We all know that the greater the power, the greater the battery consumption. With a fully charged 5.0Ah battery, the EGO can play for up to 25 minutes in high speed mode and 15 minutes in turbo mode. Our internal tests came in slightly below these numbers at 22:02 minutes and 13:05 minutes, respectively.

Considering the power output, those numbers are decent numbers for a cordless blower. For longer runs, use the cruise control dial to get the blow you want without overdoing it.
EGO 765 CFM Blower Design Notes
For the most part, the blower is fairly basic in terms of functionality, but there are a few things worth mentioning around the controls. Its main controls are a shifter trigger, and there's a cruise control dial to give your fingers some relief during extended use.

A nice thing about the EGO's cruise control design is that you can adjust the speed on the fly with one hand. The cruise control dial is on the left and is easiest to use if you're right-handed, but a bit more difficult to use if you're left-handed.
Like other EGO blowers, there's a turbo button that instantly kicks the brushless motor into high gear for maximum airflow, no matter what setting you have the cruise control on. In fact, it's a single button that helps you manage battery life and only use the most power when you need it.
Additional features
- Includes cone and wide fan nozzles
- shoulder strap hook
The EGO 56V 765 CFM Leaf Blower retails for $329 with a 5.0Ah battery and charger, or $449 including an additional 5.0Ah battery. EGO offers a 5-year tool warranty and a 3-year battery warranty.
the bottom line
If you want the benefits of a battery powered blower with the blowing power of a backpack blower, EGO's 765 CFM blower is just what you need. Not every homeowner needs this kind of power, and EGO has other models that may be a better fit. But when it comes to blowing performance that no other brand can match right now, EGO is in the lead.
