We love table saws, and despite the lawsuits, we love some new products that are finally starting to hit the market. We got our hands on the DeWalt DW745—the company's handy new 10-inch workbench table saw. It comes with a new Site-Pro modular guard system that allows the saw to be quickly adjusted for a variety of cuts. It really makes the job a lot quicker and accurate cuts don't take long to set up. The saw is both portable and powerful. The motor pumps 15 amps and has a large tear capacity of 16 inches. The tool includes a two-piece blade guard, adjustable miter gauges, and even a push bar—all fastened to the side of the tool itself for easy portability. A 10-inch, 24-tooth carbide blade is also included, which will get you started, but as with most DeWalt blades we've found – they should be replaced as soon as possible. No matter what blade you use, it will spin at 3,850 rpm (without load), and should be fast enough to handle all 15 amps and chew through the toughest hardwoods or pressure-treated lumber.

DeWalt DW745 Table Saw Features
When the table saw is retracted from the deck, its unique fence provides a massive 16 inches of tearing capacity. Since it retracts, it's great for full-page tear-offs, or you can retract it for a more portable pack. When inspecting the fence, we were surprised to see the rack and pinion fence rails. This helps to make fence adjustments quick and smooth, not to mention accurate. But more than just delivering strong tearing power, the DeWalt DW745 table saw also allows for a maximum cutting depth of 3-1/8 inches. When the blade is angled at 45 degrees, it will still cut to a depth of 2-1/4 inches. DeWalt coated the deck of the DW745 to reduce friction and make the cut smoother and more manageable. The entire tool is enclosed in a metal roll cage, giving you a saw that can really handle the stress of the jobsite.
The entire table saw weighs about 45 lbs. This makes for a very portable system, even if you add the optional folding stand. And if that wasn't enough, the DeWalt DW745 table saw includes convenient onboard tool storage for the Site-Pro Guard, recoil blade, and push rod. If you want to keep your shop clean, you can attach the 2-1/2-inch dust collection port to your Shop-Vac to safely and effectively vacuum dust from your work area. There's even a cord winder — one that really works.
