Chemical Guys Big Mouth Max Release Foam Cannon Blass
We trust Chemical Guys for our vehicle cleaning needs and were eager to get the Chemical Guys Big Mouth Max Release Foam Cannon. With three cars parked in our driveway, we warmed up our Simpson pressure washer and got to work!
advantage
- Produces a thick foam that sticks better to vehicle surfaces than other foams
- Broad spray that covers surfaces quickly
- Simple installation via quick connect interface
- smooth adjustment
- Wide tank opening encourages less spills
- Larger capacity than most tanks
shortcoming
- Switch from vertical to horizontal spraying without adjustment
Out of the box, all you have to do to prepare your Chemical Guys Big Mouth Max Release Foam Cannon is connect the tube, add your favorite soap (we recommend rinsing the can first), screw on the top, and connect it to your Pressure washer.

Compatible Pressure Washers
One good thing is that you can get great results with a wide range of pressure washers. On the low end, 800 PSI and 1.4 GPM are all you need to get started. Pay attention to the flow rating, not all entry level pressure washers can reach 1.4 GPM, Chemical Guys strongly recommends that you use at least 2.0 GPM for best results.
On the high end, stick to 3500 PSI or less and no more than 5.3 GPM. For our review, we have an air operated Simpson pressure washer that delivers 3500 PSI and 2.5 GPM.

Using Chemical Experts Big Mouth Max Release Foam Cannon
There is a quick connect adapter on the front of the foam cannon. Chemistry experts recommend that you use the compact nozzle, but it attaches just fine to a standard stick. Be sure to support the extra weight at the end.

Check your recommended soap/cleaner for the correct dilution. With a total capacity of 34 ounces, 1 to 3 ounces of soap should get the job done with this size jar. Feel free to blend it a bit heavier if it seems too runny. If the foam is too thick… well, we've never heard anyone complain that the foam is too thick.

Once the dilution is determined, simply adjust the nozzle of the foam monitor for the vehicle or surface to be sprayed. Baffles are capable of creating a very wide stream, ideal for covering large vehicles or quickly preparing fencing and concrete. It can also drop into a nice tight stream, get into tight spots or hit the dash around the roof.
it's all about the bubble
As far as foam goes, it's as thick as we've seen. Put it side by side with an inexpensive foam cannon we picked up and you can see the difference. The cheap ones put a nice layer of foam on top of the truck, but they slid off quickly and looked watery.
The foam we get from Chemical Guys Big Mouth Max Release Foam Cannon is thicker and stays longer.

That said, the soap you choose will vary. We're partial to Chemical Guys, we seem to get the best suds from their soaps. We have tried other products (including this review) that have given us good results, but we have to use more soap when diluted to get the results.
Pro Tip: After each use, remove the jar and clean it with clean water running through the spout. You'll reduce buildup and increase the life of your cannon.
Focusing primarily on vehicles, we reviewed this foam cannon, but there's a lot more you can do. We like to spray Simple Green foam on concrete, house exteriors, and fences to help prepare them for pressure washing. This soap cannon is perfect for this and other detergents.
Chemical Guys Big Mouth Max Release Foam Cannon price
Chemical Guys lists this foam cannon for an MSRP of $129.99, but it retails for $89.99. That's more than the price of other models we've used, but the added convenience and lather is well worth it in our opinion.
the bottom line
The Chemical Guys Big Mouth Max Release Foam Cannon is perfect for the professional groomer, yet simple enough for the average car owner to use without a problem. Add the versatility to help you prep for other pressure washing chores, and it's a must-have accessory for anyone who owns a pressure washer.
