Bosch enters the pneumatic realm with the introduction of the Full Power Nailer. These nailers are an all-new design featuring new Bosch technology that makes the tools 10% more powerful and 20% smaller. Along with the new nailer comes a range of matching air compressors.
The Bosch pneumatic nailer was launched on the market in 2009. They first launched the Full Power Nailer line. These nailers feature new Bosch technology that makes them 10 percent more powerful while reducing their size by 20 percent. With the new nailers comes a range of matching air compressors.
The main development of these Bosch nailers has to do with the way the internal piston resets after nailing. All other brands of pneumatic nailers on the market have a large and round body because there is a separate air chamber inside that drives the piston down and returns it to its original position after nailing.
Bosch removed the second "return" chamber in their design, which helps to shrink the barrel. Instead, pulling the trigger drives the piston and drives the nail back into place. Releasing the trigger allows a small second shock of air to return the piston to its original position. This design actually increases the actuation force of these guns by about 10%. Since they did away with the return chamber, the tools end up being around 20% smaller than the competition.

Bosch Air Nailers Lineup
Bosch SN350-20F framing nails (round head) and Bosch SN350-34C framing nails (collet head) represent framing nails. These guns have a solid frame and are designed to handle the violence of the job site, such as knocking lumber into place before driving a nail.

Bosch also plans to launch several trolley-mounted compressors (one natural gas and one electric). The rest of the lineup includes Bosch Coil Roof Nailers, Bosch Brad Nailers, Narrow Crown Nailers, Bosch Bevel Nailers and Bosch Straight Nailers.

Final Thoughts on Bosch Pneumatic Nailers
Prices for Bosch pneumatic nailers tend to be on the more expensive side. They compare favorably to some of the higher quality air tools from companies like Hitachi, Paslode, Bostitch, and Senco. Unfortunately, the line of Bosch pneumatic nailers appears to be discontinued now. Maybe the company plans to reintroduce it in the future. Now, we can report that we enjoy using them while they last.
